In this book Benji realizes that sometimes things are out of your control, it also tells of perseverance, dreams and letting go.

The book has great graphics throughout the whole book. However, I would suggest that the words should have been a little bigger and bolder in some spots.

I also suggest that the authors should have included a “talking points” page at the end to help parents and caregivers talk about what Benji is going through. This page could also included how to handle one’s own feeling about loss, disappointment, joy and sanctification. 

Because let’s be honest not all parents think about talking with their child on these topics.

Overall the book is a great read. The story brings you into those emotions and how Benji is feeling.

But when it’s time to pull the kite down and head back home, Benji can’t bear to do it. He wants to set the kite free to fulfill its destiny among the clouds. Benji lets the twine go and the kite disappears into the sunset sky. The kite may still be up there yet.
