10 Tips On How To Make Important Decisions

Successful people are not people without problems ; they’re just people who have learned to solve their problems, people who have learned to make decisions, people who understand that it’s impossible for any human being to be right every time.

Earl Nightingale

Here are 10 tips on how to make important decisions for your personal life and business life.

  1.  Try the classical approach; define the problem, weigh the alternatives, outline the facts, pick the best decision and go with it.

  2. Keep things in perspective. Will the decision matter in five or ten years from now.

  3. If the problem has too many interlocking variables, find the critical points the one point that influences all the other points.

  4. Trust your intuition. That gut feeling that says yes or no.

  5. Unless the situation is not earthshaking, don’t try and wait till all the facts are in to make the decision. You might be waiting for an eternity.

  6. If you have thought out the situation and are having difficulty because both sides seem to balance exactly, it does’t matter which way you choose.

  7. Make only those decisions that you need to make now. Trust your decision and that you made the correct one.

  8. Problems fall into two categories; one – you can do something about; two – those you have no control over.

  9. Don’t regret the decisions once you’ve made them. The decision has been made, you can’t make everyone happy.

  10. If there is a problem that you can’t quite solve then, write it down, talk about it. When talking and writing it out you will find that the problem is already have solved. Once the issue is clearly seen then there is no issue at all.

Decisions to problems are part of life. There will always be problems and issues in life, but how you make your decision will determine the success or failure of the decisions.

Everyone from the human race has made a wrong or bad decision in life. People have made such bad decisions that it landed them in prison.

Then there are those who have made good decisions, to where it made someone popular, wealthy and very well known.

Keep in mind when making a decision who it will affect. Will the decision make a difference to me or that person in a year or five years.

Do your best to make a decision that will benefit everyone involved in the problem or issue that has come up.

Look back over this list and determine which way that you need to go.

I have been on both sides of good and bad decisions. It hurts when you feel that the decision that was made, was a bad one for you.

Especially when it comes to your livelihood. When you feel that you have been unjustly fired or let go. But in the end it was actually a good decision because you go to spend more time with your family.

Sometimes what seems to be a good decision can cost you if you would’ve just said NO. But the right decision looked like a better option.

Remember, decisions whether good or bad it’s up to you on how you react to them.

Also try not to make decisions in haste, it only causes regret and could cause trouble.
