12 Things Worth Remembering

Here are 12 things to remember: author unknown. The list belongs to the unknown author but the interpretation belongs to me.

  1.  The Value Of Time: first one might assume that this applies to working, which it can. However it also applies to time spent not working – time spent dreaming, relaxing, thinking, reading, walking or working on your favorite hobby, last but not least time spent with family. Don’t waste your time on worthless activities that don’t help you grow or bring enjoyment.

  2. The Success Of Perseverance: Perseverance can accomplish most anything that you set out to accomplish in life. There are many stories throughout history that tell how men and women persevered to accomplish or reach their goals for themselves or humanity.

  3. The Pleasure Of Working: Pleasure that comes from working comes only after you have completed the job or goals that you set out to accomplish.

  4. The Dignity of Simplicity: Keep goals and task simple, straightforward and honest. Life moves more freely when things are made simple.

  5. Worth Of Character: Good character is one worth living and adds value to your life. Character traits come from our parents or those who have a positive or negative impact on our lives.

  6. The Power Of Example: The greatest examples that you will ever receive is from your parents. Good or bad they are examples. If they are good examples then follow what they are teaching you. If your parents are bad examples then find some adult that you admire and follow their good example.

  7. Influence on the Life: Though your parents are examples that you want to follow, there will be those who friends and other family members that will also have an influence over your lives. If they have positive traits that will help you in life and work then take that trait as long as it benefits you,  and “live it out.”

  8. Obligation of Duty:    your obligation of duty to the promises that you’ve made to yourself, others, work and country. Once you make a promise you are obligated to fulfill it, not just to say that you did it, but to help others build trust in you. This tells them that you are reliable person.

  9. The Wisdom of Economy:   into today’s economy one needs to be wise about how our economy works for them. If the product or service is of good value then purchase it or use that service. When you buy cheap products that fall apart in the first day of use then there is a problem. Be wise and do research on the product or service that you want to use.

  10. Virtue of Patience:  Patience is something that we all need to practice with each other on a daily basis. I am guilty of always being in a hurry when driving. But I also want people to drive the speed limit. Patience is waiting and taking your time to accomplish a task, job or going somewhere.

  11. The Improvement of Talent: if you have a talent that you have been blessed with but not very good at using that talent. Then take some classes or do something to make yourself better at using that talent to make others happy and in turn it will make you happy.

  12. The Joy Of Originating: In reading this one I had to look up the term to make sure that I was understanding it right.  To be original, to create something or to initiate something first.  We are all original in our own way. But there have been many people before us who have thought the same thoughts and acted in the same way. There are new ideas popping up everyday but that doesn’t mean they weren’t thought of before. Those ideas just weren’t ready to be useful yet.

Over all just be yourself and be the best self you can be. Reach out to others who need help along the way with some encouragement. When you encourage someone this gives them confidence in what they are doing.

If this post has encouraged you in any way please pass it along to someone who you think needs some encouraging.
